Vodka, Jello, and Girls

Since Vodka is considered flavorless and has a higher Alcohol By Volume (ABV) or Proof it tends to be the most popular liquor to use in jello shots. Vodka jello shots can be made in numerous ways. These include the quick and dirty method, were you substitute Vodka for some portion of the cold water when preparing jello. The second method is to maximize the quality of the flavor of your Vodka jello shots. This is accomplished by developing a Vodka jello shot recipe that mimics mixed drinks. Here at DailyDrinker.com we focus heavily on the second method.

How To Make Vodka Jello Shots

The Quick And Easy Way To Make Jello Shots With Vodka

For One 6oz box of Jell-O (Makes 18-20 shots)
1. Heat 1 cup of water to a rolling boil.
2. Add your favorite flavor of Jell-O to the boiling water in a clear bowl (use clear bowl to easly note when all Jell-O is dissoved).
3. Once all Jell-O is dissolved measure between ¾ of a cup (6oz) and 3 cups (24oz) of Vodka and pour it into the Jell-O and water mixture (less than 6oz is too weak more than 24oz will not set up).
4. Add cold water in an amount that makes the amount of Vodka you added and the water add up to 3 cups (24oz) of total fluid.
5. Add 1 teaspoon of flax seed oil. This will help the jello shots slide right out of the 2oz plastic portion cups with little coaxing needed. (Any of our recipes requiring that lemon or lime peel be muddled allows you to skip this step)
6. Stir all contents of bowl well.
7. Poor contents of bowl into 2oz plastic portion cups.
8. Once you have filled portion cups, place lids on them.
9. Then, put your Vodka and Jell-O filled cups into the fridge to allow them to set up. This usually takes 4-6 hours, but can be sped up some by using ice cubes in the cold water.

How To Make Gourmet Vodka Jello Shots

Most of the steps in making gourmet jello shots with Vodka are similar to those noted in the quick and easy version. All of the differences in preparing gourmet jello shot recipes is in planning out the recipe and then preparing the recipe. This adds one major step and then several mini steps that could be classified as one. When making gourmet Vodka jello shots replace the above directions with those points noted below.
1. The first step should be planning out your recipe. You do this by looking at a cocktail recipe and dividing the 3 cups of cold water into percentages of the components of a mixed drink recipe. So if it required 1 shot of mixer, ½ shot of Vodka and ½ shot of pucker then you would have 1 and ½ cups of mixer, ¾ cup of Vodka, and ¾ of a cup of pucker.
Then you would replace step 3 with the directions on how to prepare the mixture of liquors and mixers suggested by the mixed drinks recipe. Other than that you would follow the directions given in the quick and easy version of making jello shots with Vodka.
